DETERGENT POWDER PLANTS – DRY MIX PROCESS
These plants are capable of making detergent powder of density of around 0.9 kgs/ltr.

1) Manufacturing process : All the ingredients including colour and perfume are mixed in a ribbon blender till the mass is homogenized. This mass is then sieved in a vibratory sieve to obtain final required particle size which is generally 40 to 50 mesh. Bigger particles are sent for recycling in ribbon blender.

2) Basic raw materials : Raw materials required are acid slurry, caustic soda, STPP, soda ash, fillers like dolomite, globber salt, talc, colour and perfume. Percentage of these materials can be fixed as per formulation or active detergency required.

3) Packaging : This can be done either manually or on auto machines depending on the plant size. Packaging materials generally used are polythene bags.

4) Man power required : For 50 kgs/hr – 5 no.s, 100 kgs/hr – 5 no.s, 250 kgs/hr – 6 no.s, 500 kgs/hr – 10 no.s, 1000 kgs/hr – 15 no.s, 2000 kgs/hr – 15 no.s

5) Electricity required : 50 kgs/hr – 3 HP, 100 kgs/hr – 5 HP, 250 kgs/hr – 12 HP, 500 kgs/hr – 20 HP, 1000 kgs/hr – 25 HP, 2000 kgs/hr – 30 HP.

6) Area required(for plant and machinery) : 50 kgs/hr – 300 sq.ft., 100 kgs/hr – 500 sq.ft., 250 kgs/hr – 1000 sq.ft, 500 kgs/hr -- 1200 sq.ft, 2000 kgs/hr – 2000 sq.ft.
